It's been 3 weeks since Gregory passed away. As much as I would like to pull the covers over my head and never come out of the house again, I can't. I have a business to run and quilts to make. I have a Shop Hop in June. Yikes. I have a son who is happy and healthy. These are things I tell myself every day before I crawl out of bed.
But mostly I tell myself I have friends. I have friends that covered the store. I have friends that brought food. I have friends that sent email messages full of love and concern. I have friends that sent cards with the sweetest messages ever. In fact, there were so many cards mailed that the Post Office has delayed closing some branches. OK, that last statement is not true but it should be.
These friends did all this without asking anything in return. So how can I let them down? Besides, I feel better at the store than anywhere else right now.
But I have a couple of friends that are really starting to get on my nerves. One friend, Sandy, has completed three class projects in the last couple of weeks! Can you believe that?
This is Sandy's batik Back to Nature quilt that we started last year as a block of the month. This is one very large, gorgeous quilt.
This is Sandy's Chestnut & Vine quilt. This was a block of the month that started in October. The fall colors are just beautiful.
This is Sandy's Penny Candy quilt that she started at Jackson's Mill Quilt Retreat March 9.
This is a baby quilt that Tana made. The fabric is Pam Kitty Morning by Lake House Fabrics. This panel sold out really fast.
This is No Diamonds In the Sky, made by a guild in Grafton for the American Cancer Society. The quilt is hanging in the store and we are selling raffle tickets.
This is a quilt Pam made for the store called Grammie's Buttons. It's very bright and cheerful.
This is a quilt I made at the end of February. We cut up kits on the AccuCut machine, so all you have to do is sit and sew. I love the black and pink!
Oh, I almost forgot. Starting May, the store will be open Monday.
I hope to see you soon. Thanks, my friend.
